Opportunities for Providing Meaningful Feedback in the Online Classroom
Take time to do “pre-feedback.” Introduce yourself and invite students to do the same. One university instructor shared: “You want students to be open to you and to the feedback you will give them, so start building connections in the class café (an online forum) with each student in the first week of the course. Take care to make sure relationships aren’t one-sided. Share what you are interested in and why; prior work experience and professional goals.” Explain the forms of feedback you will provide, and how you will strive to be sure feedback is meaningful.
